About Happy Bird Aviary.

Happy Bird Aviary is a small, home-based aviary nestled in Grand Ronde, Oregon, built on over 15 years of experience and a lifelong love of birds. We specialize in what we believe makes the biggest difference in a companion bird's life — hand-feeding, consistent socialization, and thoughtful acclimation from the very first days out of the nest.

Every baby raised here is handled daily, introduced to a variety of people, sounds, and experiences, and given the time they need to grow into a confident, people-loving companion. We're not a high-volume operation — we're a passion project, and it shows in every bird we raise.

We specialize in cockatiels and parrotlets. Whichever one catches your heart, our goal is the same — birds that are ready to bond, easy to love, and a joy to bring home.

common questions~

FAQ & first steps.

How do I reserve a bird?

Contact me through my site or by email [email protected]. You can reserve your bird in person or online/over the phone. If I have babies available I charge a $50 non-refundable deposit per bird. If I do not currently have babies available, you can be added to my waitlist at no charge, no commitment.

Do you ship birds?

We don't ship birds — pickup only. Possible delivery or meet up in local area.

What is included when I take my bird home?

A care sheet with list of bird safe foods, baggies of food to help integrate into your current preferred diet, cardboard carrier if needed.

What if my bird gets sick?

We're always available for a chat, and we can recommend avian vets in your area. All of our babies also come with a 72-hour health guarantee.

Vet exam. The buyer has 72 hours from the time of pickup to have the bird examined by a certified avian veterinarian. The guarantee is void if the bird is not examined within 72 hours.

If a pre-existing condition is found. If the veterinarian determines that the bird had a serious illness or health condition that was present prior to pickup, the buyer must notify Happy Bird Aviary of the veterinary appointment and provide a veterinary report.

Your options. If the health concern is confirmed to have existed prior to pickup, Happy Bird Aviary may offer one of the following, upon return of the bird: a refund of the purchase price, or a transfer of the purchase price toward another available bird or future clutch. Veterinary expenses are the responsibility of the buyer.

If the bird passes away. If the bird dies within the 72-hour guarantee period, the buyer has an additional 72 hours from the time of death to have an avian autopsy (necropsy) performed by a licensed veterinarian. If the necropsy confirms that the death was caused by a pre-existing illness or condition originating prior to pickup, Happy Bird Aviary will offer either a full refund of the purchase price or a replacement bird of equal value at no additional cost, upon receipt of the veterinary necropsy report. Necropsy expenses are the responsibility of the buyer.

What isn't covered. This guarantee does not cover injury, illness, stress, or death caused by improper care, improper diet, unsafe housing, drafts, temperature changes, exposure to other animals or birds, accidents, neglect, or failure to follow care instructions.

Can I see the parents?
